It’s often called “talk therapy,” but it can include many evidence-based approaches (such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, humanistic therapy, or mindfulness-based therapies).

The goals of psychotherapy may include:

Reducing or managing symptoms of mental health conditions (like anxiety, depression, trauma, or stress).

Improving coping skills and resilience.

Enhancing self-awareness and insight.

Building healthier relationships and communication patterns.

Promoting personal growth and overall well-being.

Kim is a compassionate, client-centered Registered Psychotherapist with over 35 years of experience in community mental health and primary health care. She holds a BA in Sociology and Psychology from McMaster University and is a member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). Kim combines her extensive clinical expertise with a warm, supportive presence to help clients feel truly heard and understood.

She provides counselling for individuals navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship challenges. Drawing on evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), and Mindfulness-Based practices, sessions are thoughtfully tailored to meet each client’s unique needs and goals.

Kim understands that life can feel messy at times. She offers guidance in working through challenges, making sense of emotions, and building confidence in choices that support lasting mental well-being.
